Pictures from the weekend.....

I did my posts over the weekend via my Kindle Fire and was unable to upload any pictures.

We had a crowd here but it was all good..........

This was one of the smaller trout of the day.

This was one of the larger of ones of the day.

Here is my brother-in-law with the stringer filled with future meals.
Here is the first trout I caught fly-fishing this year.
I went out today and  bought some Adams flies on the recommendation of Alan over at Small Stream Reflections. If you haven't been there, then check out his blog you won't be disappointed: Small Stream Reflections

I hope to get back to the river after supper tonight to pull ahead further from my brother-in law in the race called bragging rights.

  1. Looks like a darn good weekend to me. Your first this year on a fly rod looks like a good sized Brookie. Am I right?

  2. Hi Mark.....Thanks.

I believe it is a Brookie and it gave me a nice fight along with a show by jumping out of the water twice. At first I was expecting a Rainbow but once it came to hand, I realized it was a species I had not caught before. I went to the MA Fish & Game website to check the identity.

I am heading back there tonight. It is my understanding that there may be Browns as well as the usual Rainbows. I would love to catch a Brown and Rainbow tonight. I will keep you posted.

  4. Thanks Alan......I was pleasantly surprised when I realized it was a brookie. They are much more colorful when they are smaller.

  6. Thanks Howard. I was surprised how strong the fish was both during the landing and then when I was holding him to get the picture.

I hope it is only the beginning....
