Last night I went to the MA Wildlife's fly tying class and had a good time as some of you predicted. I took some pictures of the folks during the break and my first attempt at the Griffiths Gnat.

The fly in the foreground is all me (if you can't tell)! |
A well done on your first fly.
ReplyDeletePut one of them away, and catch a fish with the other, then put that one away.
I'm not a professional and you can tell by my flies, but I'm of the mind that if it looks "buggy" it will catch fish. You passed based on my standards. Had a good time didn't you?
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun Ed...welcome to a new addiction
ReplyDeleteOutstanding job. Looks as good as the ones in the fly shop.

Thanks Alan....that is good advice and I appreciate the kind words. By the way, I told the MA Wildlife instructor about your blog and the flies you tie and he loved it. I think you will be getting a few more followers.
ReplyDeleteThanks Howard...you were right that I would have a good time. I appreciate all the encouragement since I started this blog.
I can't wait to catch a fish on one of these flies that I tie. Tonight I believe we are doing a Hare's Ear. There is a threat of snow so I am hoping that the class isn't cancelled. I
I appreciate the kind words guys.
Hi Mike.....it really was and this was the first class the state has had in years. The gentleman from MA Wildlife was happy with the turnout. I may need an intervention if my "history" plays out with new hobbies. :)
ReplyDeleteHey Mark....very, very kind of you and I appreciate it very much but you may want to find a new fly shop. :)
