I don't pay much attention now, but when I was a young bait dunker I did. I wouldn't ever stake my life on them, but I thought they were fairly accurate especially around some of the moon phases.
Thanks Howard....I have seen these for years in Field & Stream, etc. and never gave them a second look but with little reading material in the doctor's office I gave them a second look. It made me wonder if these really work.
Are they more for bass in a lake or do they also apply to trout in rivers?

Yes they accurately state the peak solar and lunar times for each day :)
Since there is much evidence that animal's activities levels are a function of the moon and sun there certainly is truth behind them times. However, there are other factors that also play into the activity levels. Assuming all other factors were equal for each day of the month (which obviously they never are)..those days animals would be the most active.
I my experience the best time to go fishing is when you have time. The only way to catch fish is to go fishing regardless as much as you can. :)

If I'm not mistaken, the whole reason for the solunar calendar is that when some scientist compiled record data, he found that most records were caught on a full moon. I think this effects lake and ocean fish a bit more. There has got to be some truth to it though, right?
Hey BCFN....I read the fine print and there is an address to buy more detailed info than is shown in the magazine. That doesn't take away from the validity of the info but it figures someone is trying to sell something (not that there is anything wrong with that!). :)
